GCDA is proud to announce an Educational Clinic featuring American World Championship team member and World Equestrian Games Competitor
Betsy Steiner Clinic
Saturday and Sunday, September 6-7, 2008
Weekend clinic location graciously donated by Capella Farms Premier Facility in Delray Beach, FL
Riding since the age of 13, Betsey spent more than two years in Germany with Egon von Neindorff. It was the endless lunge lessons
there that Betsy credits with developing her famous seat. In the years since her first Grand Prix at the age of 20, Betsy has enjoyed working
with such luminaries as Uwe Steiner, Herbert Rehbein, Kathy Connelly, Guenter Seidel, Robert Dover and Klaus Balkenhol.
During Betsy's career, she has successfully trained many horses to Grand Prix, including Unanimous, Metternich, Hilltop's Giotto,
Ortac and Komtur. With grand prix wins at prestigious shows around the country, Betsy has enjoyed success at the highest levels for more than
three decades. A USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist, Betsy has numberous FEI wins, including Grand Prix sweeps and same show victories
in Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Freestyle, and is well known for her great successes with Rainier.
Betsy's teaching is very focused on correct rider position and how it positively influences the horse to get the desired response. In her teaching
style, she is kind to both horse and rider, yet pushes participants to be the best they can be, sothat they can achieve their goals. Her
creative exercises to assist the achievement of the end goal are interesting and thought provoking, and will surely stay in the minds of all
participants, whether under saddle or auditing. She takes her teaching seriously, yet she is humorous and inspiring, makint the process fun, memorable
and productive, which helps riders immensely in their own personal journey with their horses.
While teaching, training and competing, Betsy also maintains an active interest in the promotion of dressage: she served as the equestrian
representative on the Athlete's Advisory Council to the U.S. Olympic Committee from 1992-1994, chairman of the Active Competitor's Committee
from 1992-1999, provided commentary for videos ofthe 1995 World Cup, the 1996 Olympic Games and Dressage at Devon in 2001, and has authored
numerous educational articles for top equestrian periodicals, including Practical Horseman, and Dressage Today. Betsy also
served on the USET Dressage Committee for 10 years. She recently a guest speaker at the 2007 USDF Annual Convention, and is the author of the
book "A Gymnastic Riding System Using Mind, Body & Spirit", and developed Equilates, a Pilates-based sport specific program
for riders. Her newest venture is on "The Dressage Retreat" as seen on her website www.BetsySteinerDressage.com
or www.Equilates.com.
Capella Farms Premier Facility has a brand new covered arena under construction, so this clinic will be held rain or shine.
Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to train with one of the most sought after and respected dressage riders in the country!
